Product Description
Objectives:
1. To promote the rights and welfare of farmers in Pakistan by providing free services and support in the agriculture sector.
2. To enhance the sustainability and productivity of agricultural practices through capacity building and advocacy.
Activities:
1. Farmer Training and Education:
– Conduct training sessions on modern and sustainable farming techniques, water management, pest control, and soil conservation.
– Organize workshops on market trends, value-addition, and business management to enhance farmers’ entrepreneurial skills.
2. Access to Resources:
– Facilitate farmers’ access to high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and improved agricultural tools through partnerships with suppliers and government programs.
– Establish community seed banks to ensure availability of diverse and locally adapted crop varieties.
3. Farmer Advisory Services:
– Provide free consultations and technical advice to farmers on crop selection, cultivation practices, and post-harvest handling.
– Establish helplines and online platforms to address farmers’ queries and disseminate relevant information.
4. Market Linkages:
– Create linkages between farmers and potential buyers, including supermarkets, restaurants, and export markets, to help them access better markets for their produce.
– Support farmers in forming cooperatives or associations to collectively negotiate fair prices and overcome market challenges.
5. Advocacy and Policy Engagement:
– Raise awareness about farmers’ rights and advocate for policy changes to protect their interests at local, provincial, and national levels.
– Engage with government bodies and stakeholders to promote farmer-friendly policies and programs.
