Objective: To train farmers to grow multiple crops, reducing dependence on a single crop and increasing overall income.
Target Group: Smallholder farmers
Location: District Jhung
Duration: 12 months
Activities:
1. Training and Capacity Building: Conduct workshops and training sessions on crop diversification, soil management, and integrated pest management.
2. Demonstration Plots: Establish demonstration plots to showcase diverse crop combinations and provide hands-on training.
3. Crop Selection and Planning: Assist farmers in selecting suitable crops for diversification and developing crop plans.
4. Input Support: Provide seeds, fertilizers, and other necessary inputs for crop diversification.
5. Market Access: Facilitate market access for farmers to sell their diverse crops at competitive prices.
Expected Outcomes:
1. Increased Income: Farmers will increase their income through diversified crop sales.
2. Reduced Dependence: Farmers will reduce their dependence on a single crop, minimizing risk.
3. Improved Food Security: Farmers will have access to diverse and nutritious food, improving food security.
Partnerships: Collaborate with local agricultural extension services, NGOs, and private sector organizations to leverage resources and expertise.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to assess project impact and make adjustments as needed.
